    IN the Abstract

Dawn was invited to be one of 31 artists included in the IN the Abstract exhibit at the Indiana State Museum this spring.

IN the Abstract: Art from Northern Indiana

Visitors can view the world through the eyes of contemporary artists as the Indiana State Museum opens “IN the Abstract: Art from Northern Indiana”.

From March 9 through June 23, 2024, the exhibit will feature the innovative works of more than 30 artists in the museum’s third-floor Ford Gallery. This compelling exhibit has been curated in partnership with Mark Ruschman, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites senior curator of art and culture emeritus, as well as northern Indiana artist and curator Bob Cross.

Abstract art diverges from the literal visual references found in representational art by distilling subject matter into its essence of colors, lines, textures, shapes, and concepts.

In addition to displaying the thought-provoking pieces, IN the Abstract will also offer insights from the artists about their own unique approaches to art and the ways in which their everyday surroundings and experiences in northern Indiana affects the creative process.

    March 9 through June 23, 2024
